If you have your owners manuals, you should read them because they will tell you what fluids to use and how and when to top off or change fluids properly. You are not specific on your walker model and year. On models MT,MD,MC- some older walkers you could use sae30 or 20w50 motor oil in the Eaton hydro before changing over to Mobil 1 synthetic oil 15w-50. Super Bee uses 20w-50 motor oil in there hydro pumps. As far as deck gear box oil, again read the owners manual on how to properly top off or change oil. If overfilled, you can blow out gaskets and seals resulting oil leaks. The deck gear boxes use sae-e.p. 80w-90 gear oil.

You also need to be more specific on the square and spline shaft switch over. Example questions: Does the deck have the square shaft or spline shaft? Does the tractor have a quick connect square or a quick connect spline shaft? Does the tractor have square shaft bolted right to the pto gearbox shaft?

It is a 2005 myths with a 48 deck with the spline shaft. It is.not a quick connect. I acquired a lot of walker mowers and wanted to switch the shaft on an older 48 the with the.square shaft over to the newer spline shaft. How much to top off the.deck gearboxes?

If you have 2 48 inch ghs decks, one with the square shaft and one with the spline shaft and you want to change the square shaft over to a spline shaft-this is how I understand from what you are saying, then take off the spline shaft on the deck you have and see if it fits on the square shaft deck and the you will know the next step to take. That may be ordering a new spline shaft or you may have to change the center tee box on the deck so a spline shaft will fit on it. If you have a owners manual and or if you don't, you can go to the walker mower website and you can look up your machine. They have the manuals for you to see. The manuals will tell how to properly fill the gearboxes on your deck.
