Generac engine Runs wide open
I have a Dixie chopper xg2703
4047603 Has 27hp Generac engine 0048620 When I start the engine the governor forces the throtttle wide open. I replaced the governor gear and flyweights, spool, bushings, gov. arm, bushings. also replaced spring on governor lever. I followed the instructions step by step for disasembly and reassembly in the service manual. Performed static gov. adjustment according to manual. Started engine and governor arm immediately forces throddle wide open. Any help would be greatly appreciated |

Check the carb throttle plates, Screws could have backed out of one and dropped it off the shaft......

The governor...if it is working...always tries to close the throttle...
Check the carb as RestroRob suggests..you've got something bad wrong going on.....

Thanks, i think i figured it out with your advise. There is a piece of the linkage missing at the carb causing the gov to do the opposite of what it is supposed to do.
