If you are going to write your own code or have someone write it for you Byethost.com has a pretty good free hosting service. I use it for www.Reliable-Landscaping.com and use Google apps for my email service. There are no forced ads with Byethost and it's been pretty good for my needs. In a former life I was a computer geek and was able to write my own site and some for a few other entrepreneurial friends. My only costs are the 12-15 bucks a year for Godaddy for my domain needs. I know I need to do some SEO work on my site but have found Google places has been the most effective for me drawing business.

We currently use GoDaddy but?
We currently use GoDaddy but I have been hearing a lot of bad things about their customer service. I have heard HostGator.com is one of the best in the industry.
