Oregon G6 Blades for 72" Ferris Deck

Is any one using 3" wide G6 blades on their 72" ICD deck? I have change from a 61" deck to a 72" deck on my Ferris now I am told by the Oregon agent here in New Zealand that there are no G6 blades available for the bigger deck only G5s which are 2.5" wide and thinner than the OE blades is this correct? A part number would be a great help

The G5 blades are 3" wide like the G6 blades, but they are standard thickness steel so they are a little lighter. Here is a link to the 2013 Oregon catalog. They are releasing a lot of new blades, particularly G5 blades.

Thanks for that info, there is no listing under Ferris for G6 blades, however by using the size chart I find that Oregon 396-764 G6 blades listed for a Scag are the same size, no doubt they will have to be specially imported as Scag is not a mower seen much here.

Do these G6 3 inches blades make a big difference in cut compared to the basic gator blade? I have some that I just ordered but for some reason they are to wide and scrape the top of my mulch kit. I really want to try them. These are some tuff looking blades that come with a nice paint finish.

I removed the mulch kit from my 61" deck and used the G6 blades, once you get them spinning, nothing seem to slow them down making them far easier on the fuel usage than with the mulch kit fitted and I feel giving just as good a job.
