Ferris / Snapper

I am looking into a ferris IS 700 with the 23 Kaw and 52 inch deck. This ztr is replacing the 1500 series. Can I get some input good or bad? Thanks

I currently have the 1500, just purchased a few months back or so. From what I see on the website there isn't much difference between the 700 series and 1500. The Kawasaki motor is great and is plenty for that mower unless you plan on bagging steep hills. It says they finally put a floor pan access to allow you to work ontop of the deck. For some reason they didn't think to put one on mine so when greasing spindles you sometimes get a few busted knuckles. Another nice feature is the extra wide discharge opening. It creates for a nice, wide and even clipping dispersal and doesn't clump as bad as the old style decks. The new ICD decks are basically the same as the scag velocity, they cut great just not so great on wet grass IMO. Only drawbacks: only 1 5.5 gal fuel tank, having to keep up with it seems 20 something grease fittings everywhere and upside down. But goodluck and again I think it's a solid machine

They just introduced the 600 and 700 series this year to fill in the gap between the 500 and 1500. The 600 is basically the same as the 500 with a few extras and the 700 is the same as the 1500 only a few differences

The new 600/700 has the zt3400 transaxles. I have the new models on the floor And the trans axles are just as responsive to pump/wheel motor. That's the only worry I had with the change. And its a lot easier to work on and troubleshoot electricle issues cause it has only 1 fuse and 60 less wiring crimps in the harness. I'm excited about selling these units

Thanks everyone for your advice. I am trying to decide between a ferris IC700, New pro turn xx, even thinking about John Deere 915b they are coming out with. I wanting a 52 inch deck. Good service at all the dealers. I am trying to make the best decision for 3 to 4 years down the road. Any more advice is appreciated thanks
