Wondering if you'all do pond winterizing?

I have koi and I have my solar cover on and the air pump/air stone set half depth. Wondering if that's something you all do off season? I'm in KY and we get some harsh winters. If you install a pond, do you service it to close and open? If they have fish and have problems during the cold, are you ready with advice if they call? Will share some tips if you are interested.
