I have a top dresser. So far have only ran sand through it
Guess I wuld just have to find a market for it. We really just compost to mix with topsoil. We go through so much topsoil it's not even funny when seeding Posted via Mobile Device |

Careful Rodney, The man might come for you. http://www.epa.ohio.gov/dmwm/Home/Composting.aspx
I was considering doing something comparable to yours until I attended a seminar at OTF about compost on lawns and they brought up the legal issue with composting. My brother is a PhD candidate at NC State and studies stuff like this and his research has shown that if not done properly, composting is WORSE for the environment than just throwing it away. Interesting stuff. (he is a nerd of the highest order) |

I am checking on it today. I am sure that with the paperwork and licenses's we already have to do that this one can't be much harder to get. Might as well just get it or atleast see what it takes. |

As I stated earlier...we don't apply it as compost.
We use as an ammendment to our topsoil. When I call EPA I am going to clarify that this is a farm and that we are mixing it with topsoil. It may make a difference. Dunno |

It's there one big pile You have it setting in a field with no grass just dirt run off is high Have you every walked around it when it rains brown water will come out like a tea They say that a lot of run off comes from farms There are lots of saw mills around here they are no longer allowed to let piles of saw dust and chips set around it has to be hauled away lots of acid in wood We used to use saw dust to bed horses you can't' get saw dust any moire Not putting you down you make it sound like because it's on a farm and not used for compost every thing is ok i seen on TV one time where they composted and they had to catch run off water and reuse it Charles Cue |
