The new Hustler Raptor

Has anyone seen one in person? What were your impressions if so? Just saw them on their website for $2800 and that seems decent for my yard if they are not junk.

Man i really think they are gonna be crazy, i havent even seen them yet and have 10 sold. A guy that works at the factory said its a bolt frame, but the welded deck, kawasaki motor in the stamped deck price range is crazy...

Of course it is going to be junk!!! Does anyone really believe a quality ZTR can be built, that they can sell for that price, and still make a profit??? Not gonna happen!!!!
This is a mower that will compete with the junkiest Cub Cadet mowers. That would be the Cubs that are sold at the big box stores. This will just be a junky Cub-quality mower from the Hustler factory.
Save up some more money and buy one of the Hustler models that will last more than a year or two.

Thanks, I dont really have to "save up" to buy any of the Hustler models but living on 1/3 of an acre in the city with an inground pool taking up alot of my backyard its overkill anyways BUT think it would be fun to do the lawn with.

Yes sight unseen in the middle of winter, 6 people already bought and paid for, and 4 gave me deposits, craziest thing i have ever had happen here. To me in the pics looks just like the sport in every way, minus the deck lift difference. Ezts, 23hp kawasaki motor, in the toro timecutter price point. Here is the deal, talking to other manufacturers i am in the loop with said they are making very littke on the units, but its smart because its gonna throw alot more yellow paint out there, and will sell more of the complete line up that way getting everyone excited and talking up the brand, much like when they released the sport. I think they will kill the sport line this way unless they throw 2800's in them beef them up quite a bit and leave price the same, ha ent heard yet... i have never had anyone buy a mower sight unseen in the middle of winter, and with this one i have 10 so far. One customer did see it at the show in tulsa and since he lives here they sent him to me, other than that one it was just a pic on my phone.

The video shows the raptor in good light. I like the solid frame and the twin kawasaki engine.Bearings and no stamped deck. If you do the math with a 1/3 acre lawn pending on where you live you'll put maybe 30 hours a year on it. That's 300hrs in ten years, I have kawasaki engines with over 2000 hours on them. Why spend more for heavy duty. There comes a point of over kill.

The discharge chutes are no different than my old craftsman riders. Can't imagine that lending itself to the best cut/dicharge. Now, the sport looks decent and my buddy just found a sale for $3100 but with a 21hp B&S. Told him to jump on that. The sport models I seen were $3900. Me however, I could find a nice walk behind 48" for quite cheap say, $1000 at the most for an acre.
