Hunter or Rainbird DC Latching Solenoid on a K-Rain Valve?
I have a 1" K-Rain valve that I need to put a DC latching solenoid on to in order to work with a Hunter SVC controller. K-Rain makes a latching solenoid but it's not as widely available as a Hunter or Rainbird one. Does anybody know if a Rainbird or Hunter solenoid will fit on a K-Rain valve?
Thanks for any input! |

In my day, latching solenoids were not programmable from the the clock. Have things changed?

Not sure exactly what you mean, but I'm just trying to figure out if I can put a Hunter or Rainbird latching solenoid on to a K-Rain valve? I don't think the Hunter controller has anything to do with it, unless I'm wrong?

How are you going to program the latching solenoid?

In which case, those Nelson jobs work fine, though I prefer TBOS.

I doubt you will get a hunter to fit a krain but if it is an Irritrol knock off krain an Irritrol latching coil will work.

After looking at the pictures of the solenoid I'm pretty sure that neither a Hunter or Rainbird solenoid would work with this valve. Perhaps an Irritrol one might work.
R-CO makes latching solenoids and adapters for different valves. You may check with your distributor regarding this. |
