same deck, larger spindles, links instead of chains and a better seat...is that all? doesn't sound like enough to convince me to pay extra for that IMO
good luck on purchase

bigger drive system. The S series has 12cc pumps and the X has 16cc 2mph faster ground speed. Different tires as well. also bigger front casters. I compared the S and X series 60in deck models off of exmarks brochure

I haven't seem the X series, but I have seen a 52" S series and it looks rediculously small compared to my early 2000 52... I guess thE X is the same size as the S?

That's weird cause i went from a 2001 Lazer Z HP to a 2009 next Lazer ( same as S series) and i say the new one even with the same size mowing deck is larger. I noticed right away as soon as i loaded it on my trailer and when mowing there was places i could get the older mower and not the newer one... Are you sure you didn't see a Pioneer S series or something else from there lineup?

Cat 320D LRR if your going to be bagging given your area is similar to mine i would go with the 34 efi. Reason being i have a exmark 52 with a 25hp and a 60 with a 27hp and i can tell the difference from one to the other. I wish they had the bigger 34 when i bought my mower. My dealer is only carrying the 34 on the X. Will only order the 27 or 29 if you don't want the vac or don't plan on having it. I can cut so much faster in the spring with the 52 because of the power it has over my 60.

Bought a Lazer X 60 with 34 Kohler. Haven't been able to use it yet since I bought it this month. But, VERY comfortable seat and seems to scoot pretty fast and very solid.
