Bought a wright stander X Terrible cut quality!!!! Need help

I bought a stander x brand new from my local dealer and got to put 8 hours on it. Problem is, the cut is terrible. I tried different blades but didn't help. Need a rep to come check this thing out. Very unhappy with it so far. My old 36 stander is a champ however.

What do you mean by terrible cut? Missing strips? Uneven? Uncut grass everywhere?

Uncut stragglers everywhere, looks very rough, and looks like its dragging and pulling up the lawn.

Geez, thought it might be an easy fix or adjustment, but not so. You need some dealer and mfg. support for this one

sounds like out of adjustment, cuz they cut pretty darn well

What cutting height are you running it at?

The X models come with a built in stripe kit and it could be whats dragging on the lawn(rubber flap at rear of deck). The original ones were not adjustable but the newer ones are. And you can change the old one over to the adjustable one. I am guessing you are cutting too low for where the stripe kit is set at...hence the dragging and that could also be affecting how the deck cuts.

I would check that out first. If you are dragging it around, raise it up and see if the cut improves.

I was thinking that. I cut between 2.25-3.5. I noticed the x cuts higher than my old rh. Meaning I cut on 2.75 with the rh and to get the same height on the x I have to go to 2.25. So I'm cutting low often with it. Also the blades have a drop on both sides compared to a standard high lift blade. I switched them for the standard blade which made it worse because the blade is more up in the deck.

sounds like you cut way too damn short no matter what.

but that is a great idea from pugs. you can use the regular blades if you want, but have to add 2 spacers to the bolt to be at the same height of cut in the deck etc.

Pugs and grassman177 are both correct, the stripe flap may need to be raised so it is not as aggressive on the turf and if running flat blades two 1/4" blade spacers will also need to be added to each spindle to properly position the blades. Also check the rear tire pressures, if lowered they may be allowing the rear of the mower to drop when the operator is on the mower (causing flat or negative deck pitch(back lower then front)). It is okay to run lower pressures but the deck will need to have its pitch reset with an operator on the mower to account for the back end dropping. With the operator on the mower the blade tips should have a 1/4" positive pitch (front tips 1/4" lower then the back tips). Also check the engine RPM's (3600rpm +/- 50 RPM at full throttle, no load), it's hard to hear if the RPM's are low but poor cut quality can be caused by low RPM's causing lower blade tip speeds.
