94 Isuzu NPR Gas Rough running down on power
I have a 94 NPR gas that has been reliable for years. We had just finished up a job and had a trailer hooked up and were checking the lights. It was idling fine then started surging for a few seconds and died. It started fine, but was down on power and would not idle well. I needed to get the trailer to another site, so I just pushed on. After a few minutes, power was back and it ran smooth again. It started acting up again before we reached out destination.
Since that time I have parked it and now need to find the problem as I need it operational again. I thought first I should change the fuel filter but I can't find it. Any of you had similar issues and can steer me in the right direction? |

Yeah, I would try and ran a higher grade fuel in it cause this crap gas and a antifreeze and water remover when you fill it up.

Check the battery connections. My 2500hd gas does that after the battery resets.

Lots of good ideas to try. I'm usually quite capable of maintaining my equipment, but this one makes me scratch my head. I found a place to dl a service manual for $8. That will hopefully help me figure out where the fuel filter is. I know it should be easy to find, but it must look different than what I have seen before.
As for the mass air sensor, even during 100 plus heat, it would not run right. I'm inclined to think water or crap, but not ruling out electrical. |
