Anyone ever try this tool ?

Has anyone ever tried this tool to remove pvc pipe from fitting ?

Just watched the video, looks like it has potential but not sure if the cost would keep most from purchasing being that PVC is fairly cheap and one would have piece of mind replacing it with a new fitting as well.

I could see it saving an irrigation tech a lot of time, might be worth it to them but probably not a homeowner doing a weekend repair.

Pretty cool someone thought of that.

I have both the fitting savers and ram bit reamers.

They both work well and i use them often.

When you are 30 min from a supplier and are a fitting short, saving a fitting makes all the difference in the world.

Being able to drill a fitting out many times without disturbing a bunch of plants or turf helps a lot too.

I thought solvent weld's were supposed to melt two piece's of pipe together? That look's like a bad glue job to me. Water pressure would have blown those pipe's apart, no machine required. Woudn't the heat from that tool warp the other fitting too? That look's like a expensive, large paperweight to me

Biggest problem to me is the size. I thought of ten situations i could have used it and it would save me, but it wouldn't fit in any of them. Needs a flex hose attachment, not that lchildrens tou grabber arm.

The trick is to run the tools at the proper speed and to choose the right powerhead.

I use a regular 18vlt drill and have an angle drill attachment for it when space is a concern.

The biggest issue is that a medium or heavy body glue should be used to fill voids that come with the learning curve.

I'm pretty sure I saw that a couple years ago, and I swear we discussed it here on LS, but I can't find the thread doing any searches.

Anyone know the price? They don't list on the website. It does look too large to be efficient in most places it may be needed. It would take some digging to get it to fit in certain areas. I have the fitting saver as well, and an angle head adapter. Works well.

That's a sure sign that it cost's too much.

I would use my heat gun (which can do the same thing) before purchasing another specialty tool.
