i bought one of those chinese (copycat honda) 6.5 hp motors to see if they hold up and tried to blow it up also since it wasn't even $100 , so i bent the tab back on the throttle by pushing it very hard towards the air filter and i let it sit there with no air filter and watery oil at probably 9,000 rpm and i mean 9,000 rpm because it was screaming for about 15 min, didn't blow up so i took it apart and everything was perfect and the cams had almost no wear at all. ps.. did i mention i also threw bits of pieces of grass and dirt in that 15 min in the intake. It started up first pull the next day and i wondered why it didnt blow up so i took it apart, it was perfect.

If you're gonna blow it up....do it right....
Drain the oil first...then run it wide open...then ...slowly pour sand in the carb..with an occasional pebble..

Leanng toward E but it depends on the size and number of the flakes. Thats why they cally it "break in", all the little pieces getting broken off.

Question #BR548. Engine...Kohler CV730

Condition....New engine..under 10 hours...leaking and using oil...head gasket problem

Situation...After having the head gasket replaced under warranty...now..not only is the engine still using and leaking oil from the head gasket...but there is also a hissing noise coming from the gasket...

Name That Failure

A)..Block dished out while cleaning the gasket area with a die grinder..new engine block ruined..
B)...Head bolts tightened with impact gun...stripped out threads in the block...new engine block ruined..
C)...The old head gasket still looked ok...so it was re used...
D)...Newly hired ace mechanic talks a better engine than he builds..
E)...Cyl head dished out while cleaning the gasket area with a die grinder...head out of flat.
F)...Head gasket never replaced...shop just filed the warranty and pocketed the money.
G)...Any of these could be the right answer...
