Another Newbie that could use advice
I want to move up from my 1957 Minneapolis Moline with 60inch finish mower. I have about 5 acres to mow, some with plenty of trees. Mostly flat ground, not totally smooth but not real rough either. I don't have Scag, Exmark nor Huslter dealers nearby. Been to 2 dealers. One has Ferris IS2000 with B&S or Kaw power and John Deere Z925A. The other dealer has Kubota, Lawn Pride, Bad Boys, GrassHopper. All are either 60 or 61 inch decks. All are new. Both dealers have been around for quite a few years.
JD Z925A $8000 Ferris IS2000 with B&S $8400 Kubota ZG327 for $9000 Kubota ZD323 for $10750 Kubota ZD326 for $11,300 Lawn Pride ZT 60 with Honda $6000 Bad Boy CZT with Kaw $6200 Bad Boy Outlaw XP with Vanguard $8400 Bad Boy Outlaw with Kohler $7500 and other models that started to confuse me (rubber mounted front wheels etc.) Needless to my head is spinning. I read good and bad about all of the above. As a homeowner I don't think I can justify the Kubota Diesels. I am not sure I like the electric/hydraulic deck system of the Bad Boys. The Kubota seems to have every thing needed. The JD drives like it could benefit from the suspension seat ($300 option) I have drive a few of them. I seem to like ZG327. Z925A, IS2000, and Lawn Pride ZT60. So the big question is what is the general opinion of these and which one should I buy? |

That Ferris is one heck of a machine.....The Bad Boy Outlaws are impressive as well with their 5400 hydro drives.
If it was me I would go Outlaw XP. |

Look at: Hustler Fastrak Super Duty Gravely Pro Turn 1XX series or 2XX series (XX denotes deck width) Bad Boy Xp Ferris IS1500 or 2000 Scat Tiger Cat (best out of all IMO - their deck is legendary) |

Thanks for the reply. Are their any other differences on the xp cause I saw it about 2000 dollars more than the outlaw. I also looked at a super duty but saw it was residential grade wasnt sure if it would hold up. The dealer try to steer me towards a x-one which was nice but also more expensive. I probaly dont need a full commercial machine cause I dont cut all day everyday but dont want to get something that breaks to save a 1-2 grand.

I was ready to buy a Fas Trak Super Duty but the dealer wants to sell me another Fas Trak. He said the transmission is different and better in the newer ones. My old Fas Trak is a 2004. It pretty much died last August. The dealer gave told me a Fas Trak is $6000, but he didn’t have a price for the Super Duty. I’m wondering if he is promoting the Fas Trak because he has 2 left in stock and would have to order the Super Duty. The land I mow is hilly, wet at the bottom and it is pasture, not lawn. Which should I get and does anyone have a ballpark on the Super Duty?
