how do you sell landscaping work?

whats the best way to get your landscaping company to get more installs, and physical landscaping work then mowing. I know mowing is essential part of the business but i have a full time job, so i want to focus more on planting, mulching, brush removal, small tree removal, patios, retaining walls, etc. whats the best way to do this?

You have to make sure yur marketing is geared towards landscape work. But more people are wanting a full service company. I get alot of calls for landscape installs and i always try to upsell maitenance when we do an install or cleanup etc...

yea i can do all of the maintance as well, but i dont have a riding mower all i have is a 21 in mower and i dont mind the extra work even though i know im loosing money on time, but id mow with that if i can get the work to get me started. I just need to get started some how, i got a stihl trimmer, im going to get a new back pack blower in like two weeks, and im looking at a cheap chain saw just to have to cut fallen trees, and limpbs, etc as well as im getting the saw blade attachment for my trimmer to do pucker brush and stuff.

I only have two accounts set up for mowing this spring because ive had them for three years. But i do have some small brush removal jobs lined up as well but i want more to make it so i can do this for a living. I love working out side I used to do it when i was 13 or 14 with push mower and i was making a killin, then. I had 15 lawns i mowed every week.

Get some fliers or door hangers made and get them out there. INCLUDE THE PRICING ON THE AD.

Also, if you have about 3 grand you can get a nice used walk behind and a trailer to pull it. If not, mow the first season with the 21 and save up for the better mower. Regardless of what you read here...the overwhelming majority of customers do not give a rip what kind of mower you use as long as they don't have to do the work they're golden.

ok thanks for the advice i have 2 grand but i want to get shirts made up and pay my insurance for the whole year, so ill have about 1100 when im done

I think it's a lot harder to try and start on the install side then go to the maint side, we did the opposite started out on the maint side and grew into the install side We advertise as full service now and it has worked out much better. The maint side will bring the install work kinda naturally.

well like i said in aother post, i only have a 21 in to mow with so if you bid on a bank for say and win the bid will they keep you if your mowing with a 21 in and not a big fancy zero turn or walk behind? I can make my lawns look just as good as and zero turn can.

i understand that but i figure you need to start some where, and as far as the money being made, besides taxes fuel and repairs, all of the money will be in the bank because i have a full time job as well that i can live off while im building up my biz.
