I've done both the discount on the front end and discount on the back end. I do 5 apps. I've found that with a discount on the front end that customers sometimes cancel the last couple services of the year because there lawns get so nice. If I give the discount on the back end I keep those customers all year. For the last few years my promotion has been the 5th application free.
