Looking into a newspaper ad. Looks like 3"x3" is the best value.

So what do you put in it? Anyone got a good sample layout?

I was going with --- name, lawn care/maintenance, website, phone and cell number, 4 services offered( mowing, weed control, fire ant, mosquito).

Would you fill the space with this info only? Add anything else? Liscenced and insured? Pesticide number? Facebook symbol?

Don't want to overwhelm them. Just redirect them to call or go to website.

Don't know if any real tech savvy people read the printed news any more, but I'm curious about having one of those 2D barcodes that links them to your website on your ad from their smart phone. Looks like you offer one stop shopping for lawn care, so maybe emphasize that.

Any "catchy" specials you've seen or had good success with?

We will begin round 1 shortly so I was thinking something about weed control.

Free estimates is an easy one. Maybe small percent off the first application? Prepay discount?


I have to do a min of 3 months with the ad running twice a week. So hopefully I can change the reason to call offer a few weeks.

Instead of an add inside see if they do the post it on the outside. You will get more from it. Usually you can have it put on for certain zones.

Senior discounts. Seniors love it and you work in into your prices. New customer sign up special, something like, join our year long plan and get 1 free month service. But you must give them a call to action and a deadline will help too. The 1st 5 to sign up for our services by 2-1-13 get a free........I don't know....whatever you want to give away.
