warm weather...business picking up

Anyone picking up more customers? I picked up 4 more maintenance accounts in the last 2 weeks. I also did a few estimates but found out I was to high and I would not cut grass for $12 a cut. I think spring will come early this year but am hoping for some more cold temps.

Yes $12 a cut. I was doing work in a neighborhood and a lady came up to me and asked if I can stop over to her house down the street and give an estimate. She told me that her old lawn guy got sick and he was cutting it at $10 per cut (only when she called him to cut it (once a month in the winter/twice a month in the summer-St.augustine)She wanted to know if I can match that price and if not could I at least beat out the competor that is going to charge her $12 per cut. She told me that he said $15 per cut but she said she could not pay that so he knocked it down to $12 per cut. small yard. )25ft wide x 75ft long -estimate)I told her just to keep the guy she has in mind because I dont do per cut and I cant do it that low of a price if I did. She just looked at me and said (ok).

1980 called. They want their prices back.

Should have told her you would beat the price. You'd pay her $10! When she gave you that puzzled look, tell her you make up for it in volume.

I would be utterly amazed if we had an actual cold front roll through. Dec and jan were big letdowns. So much for the weather people predicting it was going to be a really cold winter. The only plus is that things pick up sooner...but who cares, I wanted an actual winter. We had a lot of days in the 80's during dec/jan

They say that mother earth is heating up and that most places will just be getting much warmer in the near future. It will be getting dryer along with more heat. So much for winter temps in the south

This weather has been great for business. Grass is growing. People are calling for early clean ups. No winter losses of annual flowers. Even the Bermuda and Bahia really didn't go dormant. People are buying houses at a good pace again. I did 3 previous foreclosure yard and pool rehabs this week. Going to be a bumper crop for weeds this year if people don't get the pre m down soon.
