Yeah I've heard of being hired by gov't, city, etc. as a "disadvantaged business" being a Veteran, but I'm not sure how to work that angle/or where to look for it...

Any help?

Display it proudly on your ads. I wouldn't count on it making much of a difference unless that particular customer is also a veteran, though. Most people just look at price.
