Payroll as a percentage of sales
For maintenance or DB companies, what percentage of sales is your payroll? If you have employees, how many? Thanks!

You will find some good data here:
http://www.kehoe.biz/greenresearch.htm Keep in mind that payroll as a percent of sales will depend on how much you are paying yourself as an owner. If this number is not realistic and you are a smaller operation the % payroll will mean nothing. |

Very valid point. I will look at the link you sent. I am looking for the percentage of payroll not including owner salary to be specific and to your point. If some one wants to share their owner salary percentage that would be great too.

My most profitable clients in this industry have a payroll burden outside of the owner salary in the 30% of sales range.
