Measuring sq ft

I talked to a guy with a very successful business that uses the gross sq ft numbers on lots when pricing his services.

He goes on to Zillow and looks at the gross sqft and the pictures there and makes his pricing off of that. Only takes him a minute or two at most.

What do you guys think? Obviously measuring either with an online tool or in person is preferable, but what about when you have someone on the phone and are trying to close them on the phone? they are not going to wait while you measure the lawn, and you want to close them before they even call another lawn company!

So do any of you price off gross square footage?
