Just here to give the Echos some love... That's all i run for hand helds and nothing but good things to say about them...

Yep, I've got Echos and Shidys and some Echo trimmers that are 10 years old that still fire right up!

The only reason they brought in the mid sized echo units is because guys who only carry shindaiwa will have more than 2 handheld and two HUGE blowers. It was a good idea to support their dealers. They are still quality units. I sell both and the quality from both brands are great. Plus shindaiwa got the same 5 year warranty like echo this year

They only brand two of them, and Shindaiwa needed a mid-size backpack anyways.
