started up this spring or next spring
right know i kinda have a idea on equipment n everything allow i don't have any equipment handy or anything here is what i was thinking of buying
48" hydro drive walk behind toro mower fs70r stihl trimmer fc70 stihl blower bg86 stihl edger for mowing i am going to do a weekly mow which let just say mid April to mid Nov which approx 32 cuts and bi weekly mid April to mid Nov approx 16 cuts fertilizing i have a basic, mid and high level fertilizing plans it has areation weed control insect control limeing soil sample overseeding liming, areation, theaching fall clean up have a too level cleanup a basic and mid level spring clean up priceing is on the square footage of grass the way i know how to estimate ex: if it is 50 steps in one direction andf 25 steps in other direction it be calculated liikemt his 50*3=150 25*3=75 150*75=11,250 square foot if anyone knows if this is a good way to do it let me know or if there is a easier way to do it with advertising i was going to put ads in like facebookbook craigslist door to door flyer's put stuff in the paper if anyone thinks this is a good start let me know thanks Last edited by racin240; 02-10-2013 at 05:33 PM.

No one is going to give you there estimating spreadsheets or info. I'd start with guesstimating on a lawn and learn by trial and error. If your thinking square foot it may be helpful to by the tools to properly measure the work at hand.
Maybe start with a larger landscape company try to learn the ropes and learn how long it takes to do things and what is involved before going all out! Good luck!

Since you're in no hurry to reach the top in one season, I'd buy a blower and see how much money there is in Spring Cleanup... see what kind of connections you make in the meantime... go from there... when you find that there is a client base that you're comfortable with, buy the ztr and go mow...
Wayto risky to just buy a bunch of stuff b4 you have the client base...

Do you have a 21 inch mower? If so then I dont see why not start this coming spring and work on building for next year.

yes i do what i shoulda sayed in this post that i was going to start this spring doin it on the side but then work on trying to get the whole buisness side of things down pack for next moweing season the opnly things that i dont have is a trimmer or blower just the lawn mower since i am unemployed this will be the only income i have comeing in and work towards building a goood name for myself any other suggestion on how to get the customer base basically what i said in the post

On the parade deck Marines march with a 30" step...
It can become an accurate measuring tool if you measure out 5 steps, instead of just one... Milwaukee should be seeing some ground thaw in a couple of weeks,,, is that true??? If you could swing buying a blower(back pack) that would get you working a lot sooner, than waiting for mowing season...
