When the clutch is engaged to start the blades spinning as well as disengaged to slow them to a stop is when the blade weight differential will affect 'things' the most. Harder to accelerate a heavier weight and harder to slow it down as well. This seemingly would affect belt, clutch and spindle life...and to what degree is the bigger question.
