If i pull the pump outlet it sprays out, fuel filter has always stayed a little over half full. I replaced the pump about 18 months back when it failed.

Did you clean where the needle sits in the seat under the float?
take carb off again and look there .. doesnt sound like it runs long enough to heat anything up electrical... did you take fuel filter off and have it on backwards? putting trash in the carb?

Going to take the carb off and drop it in carb dip. I put the filter on the same way, good idea though. Ok noob question time. When I rebuilt the carb last year I don't remember removing any jets... do they unscrew in this carb and if so are they in the upper or lower portion. Maybe a piece of o ring or fuel line is plugging it when at high demand...

How long will the engine run if you let it idle..???
Check the ground wire on the SAM module ..as well as the plugins for the SAM and the carb.. The float on the CH carb is very sensitive...just a slight bend will make it really rich...or really lean.. The adjustment is 22mm off seat...it has a spring loaded needle...consult the book..

Forever it seems. Can you explain the float level measurement? Thank you.

You prolly don't have the tools to properly set the float level..it takes a Walbro pressure gauge and a mm ruler..
Soooo...I'm guessing the engine will run at idle all day...and only shuts off after 45 seconds at WOT..??? If this is the case...no need to remove the carb...just remove the 4 screws and remove the cover and float assy... Ever so slightly..bend the float tang so that the float is closer to the top cover...reassemble and try it again...
