Has anyone run an ad on yp.com lately? It seems they've really changed since I spoke with a rep 3 years ago. Though, any real benefit to what they are currently selling?

Yeah I do it....working ok...yp.com listing kind of works hand in hand with your other advertising. Like I had a lady tell me see saw one of my advertisements somewhere, remembered my company name but not the phone number so she looked it on yp.com

How much are you paying? What kind of numbers has it generated? Can you really track the number of leads per month?

If I had a large marketing budget, then there might be a very small, small, almost remote chance I would advertise with them, if only to be part of the marketing blend that Big C alluded to with his reply. And then I would rethink it.

There are a couple of ways I look at it, without even factoring in the high costs:

1.) When was the last time you visited YP.com to find a local business?
2.) If you didn't use YP.com, what did you use to look up a business?

If you really want to test the waters, tell them you'll do a 2 week or 1 month test run and you can test their conversion claims.

Now, take that same amount that you were quoted and run a Google Adwords test campaign. Not only is there no contract, they often give you $50 or $100 to try it out.

Yeah, I can't say I've ever used yp to search for a listing. I guess the benefit would be the added citation with the other sites they are connected with? They claim to spend millions to get their listings to rank in the top five, but my free yp listing ranks well as it is.

Used yp for 3 years complete waste of money. Not a single solid lead from them. If you enjoy tire kickers and cheap a$$'s then be my guest.

I used them for a month or so. WASTE OF MONEY. they charge a 5 dollar fee and then tack on like 25cents for every person that sees your ad. I spent 82 bucks plus 5 dollars in a month on them and got no leads. Wont be using them for awhile.
