Really not all that special. Not the worst, but certainly they are not the best by any means. You are opening up a can of worms with that comment on a 2 year old thread though.

Bringing up an old thread here! I've been waiting to try this method and had the perfect opportunity last week to build two side by side, just three steps high and 5' x 4.5' total size. I LOVE IT. Will definitely do this way again, I have another one to do this coming week. I think it will outlast the compacted granular and definitely should not heave with frost this coming spring. Who said you can't teach an old dog a new trick.
