Herculiner applied - plywood enclosed trailer floor. Optimal Primer for 50:1 stains?

As of yet I'm searching for an ideal primer for the absolute best possible bond of Hurculiner to my 3/4 plywood floor.

Like the title says some areas have been soaked with spilled and soaked 2 stroke mix. Few other areas have been hit with just gasoline.

I'm course sanding now. What type of primer is ideal? Maybe the entire floor should be primed for the absolute best bond?

you may be better off getting some thin sheet metal and putting it down on floor then applying herculiner. i'd think anything porous with oil spilled on it is gonna have a hard time getting anything to stick to it real well.

I've got a Sherwin Williams guy tracking some stuff down for me now.

Still working on sanding. May chase out oils with MEK or xylene...? Then seal a sealing primer comparable with the polyurethane hurculiner base and 30%.xylene ....?

Aluminum diamond plate is a really good floor. Comes in 4x8 or 5x10 sheets. Run a bead of silicon all around the edges, this way a spill doesn't leak into the sub floor.

I didn't use hurculiner but I used a floor coating from Coronado. I power washed the trailer 2 coats, added sand the 2nd coat. Came out great very happy!! I used battleship gray Here is the link. http://coronadopaint.com/viewProd.asp?prodID=43

Long story short I have coat #1 of Hurculiner applied. 3/4" was fairly soiled and had to be scrubbed out with hot water and strong mixture of TSP and a scrub brush. It actually cleaned up well and rinsed it to some degree. Then dried and sanded then 3 coats of zissner bin primer.

1st coat is black and that went on today. I have gray for the final coats so the trailer isn't such a black hole and less heat.

Time will tell how it lasts. Didn't take any short cuts on prep.

Just wish I had some spray on white for my E track that goes in shortly. Will post pics someday.

[Ethos Irrigation]

In the future, Once solid coat of polyester resin thinned with 30% Acetone will do the trick as your Primer. Herculiner bonds excellent to Resin and the resin will waterproof and seal the wood in addition to the herculiner.

I've done this for years on my all my trailers, beds, boats etc.
