You should come for a visit some day. (In the summer) Levelling a trident stake in rocky, root covered "soil" is next to impossible. I'm not the only guy installing in challenging terrain, that is why offering options is your best bet.

Steve, I was wondering if there is a lifetime warranty on the glass lens [without grate] on the well light placed in turf. Glass broke due to mower tire going over fixture. Thanks for the response.

Yes, we honor the warranty for glass, but I usually send back a note to avoid running over the lens with lawn mowers!

Thanks, I may take you up on that.

DMAN,
I had the same issues with the CWLR1CB. I soon realized the unprotected glass was a major issue due to the lawn jockeys. I retrofitted every well light to the CWLG1CB and have yet to have a problem.

Our installed volt fixtures over the last couple of years has got to be over a 1000. I have replaced less than 5 sockets, a couple lenses, and some damage done by folks running over them or breaking them with mowers or gas hedge trimmers, but all are isolated incidents. All issues have been covered by sending me new parts or brand new full fixtures. Even stakes that are broken are replaced. I can't tell you they will last 10 years or more, but the track record is pretty good for now.

while they make look identical to other fixtures on the market, the other ones don't "click" like their socket does, and they don't come with 25 foot lead wire either.

Has anything changed with Volt's electrical listings status? From a quick review of their website and specifications it would appear that the fixtures are still not recognized by any NRTL. If that is the case, it is a big no-no to be installing these as a professional contractor.
