You are using the wrong style strainer. What you need is a CHECK VALVE STRAINER so when you turn off the pump you don't get dribble from the Nozzle. The Check Valve strainer are made of brass and have a small ball and spring inside that you can see if you look.

This what I ordered and it is say check valve? So is the little tit supposed to fit inside the strainer hole or not?
