No prob, no expert but I've seen it work. I'm sure they will. Always looks good when you can go above and beyond to help the customer. Bark is like skin, so grafting makes sense. Some people say you should leave it be to grow if it isn't a bad scratch, however I like the idea of shielding the tree, especially if it is in the winter months when the bark isn't reproducing. And, it makes the tree look better.

Yea. i think itl work great. i need to find some dark brown tape tho. iv got camo duct tape if it doesnt look too bad.
