I fix a lot of irrigation timers and I am always asking feed back from our customers. Everyone who has a Rain Bird swears by them. They are great because they are weather-smart and will adjust itself according to the weather, which it receives up-dates about every hour. Not only that, they also measure your moisture balance in the soil making the Rain Bird, in my opinion, the more efficient watering system. Hope this helped!

What soil moisture sensor are they using? How many of them per install?

If the RB is using one sensor to adjust the run times for multiple zones, the whole deal is off.
