What type of grass is this?

What type of grass is this? My lawn is all tall fescue and this type of grass has just gone crazy this spring. Never had it before until now.

That's Timothy. I have a few spots of that in my yard. I use a garden hand spade to dig it out when I find it. It is a tough weed, and there's no selective killer for it that I have found.

I agree. Its a great pasture grass for horses. Dig it out. Does not spread much.

Is this also Timothy or Pasture grass? Seems to have taken over my back lawn. Is there any way to remove is without having to dig it up?

That's actually looks tall fescue. It's a weed, not a grass.

Your lawn appears to be mostly a mix of fine fescue, creeping red fescue and maybe a little KBG just looking at the pics.

There are applicants that aren't available to homeonwers that can be sprayed to kill TF, but you'll have to hire someone licensed to do it.

I found that info in one of my turf care books, but it doesn't say what the chemical is. It just says it's a restricted herbicide. It says to discuss it with the company you have treat your lawn for fert and weeds if you have one.

Edited to add:
I did a little digging and found this is the herbicide that kills tall fgescue in KBG without killing KBG. It will stress it some, but the KBG will rcover-

chlorsulfuron
