Yes when their is excessive head pressure I have experienced more consistency with them.

Don't get the 50 psi thing. I stem regulate down to 40 or 30 psi 99% of the time. No problem with 1000's either.

Not sure I understand the whole screw adjustment thing either. I never have a problem finding it .... in fact with the tool made for it I find it is actually easier than a standard spray nozzle.
