I have some older aerators, love 'em....I picked up some newer ones, and they suck, these are Ryan lawnaire 4, any idea how to make them pull better plugs? They lower to the ground, but just suck compared to my older ones

Try a different type of tine. How is the weight of the unit? (maybe there isnt enough or the weight is missing from the unit, some are removable) The Ryans are typically good machines. It sounds like something is wrong with the unit.

Simply put, the newer Ryans are not the same as the older machines. They have not been built in Lincoln, Ne for about a decade.
