carb. removal from fh500v

Mower is running rough and suspect carb. needs to be cleaned. I have had air filter off but am not sure if housing above needs to removed as well to gain access to choke and throttle cables for removal. Any help would be appreciated.

its been a few days i'm sure you've figured it out by now. check the intake gaskets where they bolt to the head i've seen them fail then they start sucking in air and run like crap. spray some carb cleaner on them and listen to the motor.
