i also have a question regarding my 52 X deck, i hit a manhole cover that was sticking up in a very tall yard and couldn't see it, the way it happened i almost missed it but caught it with the right side of the deck at the discharge chute. bent the blade downward, loosened it, and bent the bolt. i am suspecting the spindle is bent slightly so going to replace it. the deck is level side to side, all blades within 1/8'' at lowest point in front. but if i measure each blade individually side to side, only the middle is perfectly level. both side blades are about 1/8 to 3/16'' higher towards the middle of the deck. doesn't seem right, and i swapped both left and right spindles and came up with the same thing. is this normal? absolutely nothing at all has been hit with the left side, its only got 12hrs on it. having some terrible luck this year!

kawakx125,

Has the distributor contacted you yet, they are supposed to be getting the territory rep into the area to look into your issues?

Best Regards
Wrigth Mfg.

not yet i don't believe, how will he be contacting me? i'm more concerned about the 36 issues, and just the blowout on the 52. whatever i did to it yesterday is completely my fault and fairly confident that a spindle will fix it. i noticed on that deck there is a thinner plate welded on top of the deck, i just can't see it getting bent very easily and given that the blade and bolt bent and loosened i'm hoping that saved my deck. after getting it back together i'm getting some wobble in the pulley and it appears to wobble some when spun slowly. also it is much looser than the other side to spin

oh yeah i forgot about that! Haven't heard from rep yet. The 36 still has all of its issues, and the 52, after replacing the spindle is back to normal, aside from the baffle/blowout issues.

kawakx125,

I forwarded the website email to the distributor and asked that they get the territory rep to get ahold of you when in the area. I spoke with the engineer on the 52X and we got to the point of running only the baffle section that is on the trim and center chamber and leaving out the chute baffle section which will open up the discharge chamber but still leave the blow out protection of the rest of the baffle.

Best Regards
Wright Mfg.

I might give that a try next time I run into some less than ideal conditions...this past week I've had the baffle on and it's been dry an performed pretty well. Some tall lawns it clumped a little more and didnt discharge as well as I'd prefer but overall not too bad in dry conditions
