Yes many times over the years. I'll let you in on my secret. I log all this into my ipad now which is backed up daily. no issues with misplaced papers and napkins with numbers blowing out the window anymore. The only issue it sucks to use in the sun cause the case I have causes a bunch of glare so i'm always fighting to get it in the shade. Otherwise I can have notes, measurements, pics, surveys, copies of the contract, etc all in one place for quick review.

I have looked at yards before unexpectedly and had to write stuff down on a paper I find in the truck and sometimes it can get misplaced.

Also, I tend to lose numbers when we are working and the neighbor comes over. They are all excited and has me write down there number to call them to look at their yard so I can give them some "good ideas". Its hard to remember to call them since I am focused on work and forget about them as soon as they leave and have written it on something like a stick or piece of cardboard or a tiny piece of paper they gave me.

Honestly I've tried probably 100 apps and in the end I went back to the basic apps that came with it cause they always work with no glitches. The notepad I use all day long for notes and measurement notes. PDF forms for contract viewing and surveys. Quick office for material tracking, record keeping, or any spreadsheet need. Reminders for keeping track of what has been or needs to be done, who to call, what or when to order. Calendar for scheduling. Camera, calculator, weather, contacts.

I've written off all manufacture apps like Belgard and techo. It just works better to hand over a catalog. They try to have estimators and whatnot, but I find them garbage. If you can not accurately estimate a patio's materials you probably can not install one properly either.

Landscaper's companion is nice on occasion, but the pics suck. Flick stacker is nice for photo viewing, but the iPad gets bad glare and most of the time we are outside. I do not do a ton of portfolio sharing as most of the time they have seen my work, we sometimes meet at the nursery or stone yard, and anything else I email or they see on our website.

I back up nightly automatically and share with my pc through Dropbox. Technology is tricky cause there are some great apps out, but when they fail while your standing there in front of a client you look like a numb nut. I stick with what has been proven and it has helped me organize as well as cleanup the truck and office.

I just got an iPad yesterday so I can put together a growing portfolio. Still working on getting existing pics from my phone to the pad but I can already tell this will be awesome.

I still use paper for notes, written contracts and I have a weekly planner And it works good for me as of now.

Raining tomorrow thank god. A day to breathe and catch up
