Ferns on palms

What do you do with the ferns in palms ie. Phoenix Canariensis? Are they acceptable in florida landscapes?

We just leave them but a few look overgrown and ugly, I'm not sure how I feel about it.

If you pull them out they just grow back even when you get the roots and rhizome.

Some like it, Some dont. I think it looks cool & makes the palm look better.
