Rained out today so was greasing everything up and ran out of little tubes of sthil grade for trimmers. Has anybody just put grease fittings on trimmer head? I think this will work

My Husky 323L has a plug on the head to put grease in but they don't supply a grease nipple for it oddly enough. I think maybe their afraid that it will be over greased if there is such a thing.

Regards, Kevin

some have put grease fittings into their trimmer heads or you can just press the grease gun end tight against the opening and squirt 3-5 pumps of grease into the trimmer head.

if you have a flex shaft it needs to be pulled out and greased too. solid shaft trimmers do not.

it's really only necessary to grease a trimmer once a year unless it is used 8-12hrs every day on a crew. in that case you may wanna do it 3-4 times a year.

With Stihl trimmers, remove the plug, and remove the fitting on the end of the grease gun. Now the grease gun should thread right in. Only supposed to get an ounce or so (about 1 good pump).
