Was that a ZT ELITE or CZT ELITE? I just demoed a CZT Elite with the Kawi and 54" deck, and mulching kit. This 1 had the Hyrogear 3400 hyros. I was shocked at how well it climbed up and down hill . It was so nimble and the cut quality was better than equal to the famous Ultracut deck on my Exmarks.

Is there that much of a difference between the czt and zt ? Or did he just get a lemon. Because I ran from the older BBoys but I would buy 2 of the CZT 60" and replace my heavy Exmarks, or keep the exmarks as backups, based on my experience with the demo I had. My only complaint was reverse traction when turning if pointed downhill, yet I could go straight downhill and not lose traction where my Exmarks are on the verge of sliding downhill.

They sell like hotcakes at my local ace hardware. Really only homeowners buy them or a new lawn care person. They sold hustlers first then BB and whatever they sell is always the best new thing!lol

They both were redesigned this year substantially. The difference is the czt has bigger wheels and tires, adjustable handles, 3400 tranny then the more commercial lasting motors briggs cyclonic 30hp or kawasaki FS. In laymans terms I like to say you are going from basically an 800 expected lifespan motor and tranny to a 3000 hour basically, its a big jump in years expected all around. The 10mph is alot nicer too to, the zt feels like it could "go" faster but the new 3100's are a hair slower than the 2800's were...

Thanks retro, Do you know if they can put a more aggressive tire on the czt like the one on the new outlaw I demoed? It had incredible traction and did not tear up the turf. It was a $500 option for tires and rims on the outlaw my rep said.

Are you thinking of starting to go with a lighter made Z, do you think a Exmark is to heavy for hills? I have kinda come to the same conclusion I think.

For rugged big jobs for me a mega 72 and for all other cutting a lighter more agile like 52 or 54 that does not tear the turf as easy.

I have heard those Bad Boy Outlaws are really good mowers from every one who owns them and great for the money.

Chasses wise how does it compares with the old Hustler you had. If all the problem areas of your old Hustler were fixed would it had been a keeper?

I am updating my Hustler XR7 Z with the newer style parts. I think for a Mega 72 I believe you told me to buy a Hustler Super new style with a EFI Kaw as far as being the most rugged big cut?

I have decided on the lighter smaller wheelbase CZT with a 60" deck set up to mulch because of its ability to hold hills, and the cut quality was exceptional compared to anything else I've demoed that has a mulching kit on it. The 1 I demoed was very well built with a lighter footprint (no rutting)
capable of mowing smaller properties as well as the larger properties that I have.
But if I recall you like the wide open speed of the Hustler. The Hustler Super z XR7 does not do well up here, pour QOC, bad on hills , soft mushy hydros. I am not a fan of the Hustler product for my area. But for you I would demo a new Outlaw to see if the speed is comparible. I don't know anything about the new Hustler never even demoed one after my last experience.

Ive not had any issues with my Outlaw I have 560 hrs and use it on my larger properties because it will mow at 13mph, the new Outlaws are only 12 mph I think which is good for me, but probly not you Realfast. haha
Demo demo demo

MJB the new top of the line Exmarks are using the 21 cc Hustler pumps? the problem with the Hustler was they were asking to much from lower end hydro components.

If they would have used them to do a 12 or 13 MPH setup I think the issues would have never been their. The new system of course everybody knows is in a class by itself.

The problem with the all in one newer hydro drive units that ZTR companies are using is you need to keep the fluid fresh because they get dirtier quicker because the capacity of oil is so small.
