Front Shocks For Chev 2500 Durmax

Does anybody have a recommended shock for use in these
diesel trucks? Got a nasty hop in front. May be tires since this is a 2006 with 50000miles. How can I tell if shocks are bad?

Just for the record, run bilsteins if/when they do need replaced. You won't regret it.

I figured that would be the recommendation....but the prices of them are all over the spectrum. Do they have anything under $100?
