1st pic: Do it yourself project. Home owners built there own retaining walls... supposed to be stamp concrete everywhere around the pool...

2nd pic is deck post... just a few inches short buddy

And is that an above ground pool they have transformed into an inground pool. I don't see any deck supports.

I see **** like that all the time. One customer (I call him customer because I worked for him like 15 yrs ago) of mine actually took advice from some cheesy landscaper and had an inground installed with no deck braces or concrete. He wanted me to install coping around the pool and do a retaining wall, hilarious! He wanted me to either "bid with this landscaper on the project or call it a day". His exact words! I called it a day!
