91 or 94 in everything. I always get the highest octane I can find at a gas station

That is a waste of money but if it makes you happy. Same applies to cars. An engines compression dictates the required octane and low compression engines don't need high octane.

It's not that it makes me "happy" but the problem is I've tried running 89 and they just don't run as good.

I did a bit of research, and only Esso and Shell premium gas is ethanol free up here. Just so you know

That is interesting. We run 87 in everything even handhelds. The lower the octane the more power an engine makes. For max power you want to be right on the verge of detonation.

I believe that you have true luck running 87 with no problems. Like someone else said ditto
