walker mtefi just shuts off

2009 26 hp gas mtefi when mowing just shuts off. disengage blades and stop forward contol and she starts right up. any ideas like safety swithes or such, thanks barry

I don't think so. I think it is closed when you sit on it. You might try bypassing the switch by connecting the wires going to it. Diagnostic use only, I have a nice scar on my finger from the blower because I used the mower this way. Has it ever shut down during transport ( blades off )? If so that eliminates the blade switch. With my walkers the seat switch is the first to wear out.

Is there any way to determine which switch is bad? Are they expensive. Machine always dies during mowing. Doesn't happen just driving so far.

If it only happens when mowing it should be the blade switch. Try cleaning it, I use ether or electronics parts cleaner. If that doesn't fix the problem replace it. Even from the dealer it should be cheap. Still betting on the seat switch though.
