tar chip? like back in the old days they use to spray hot tar on gravel? that kind of driveway?

Remember for you black mac users: that sealer is only good on oxidize driveways. It does a very very poor job when you spray driveways that have been recently sealed with acrylic, waterbase or latex sealer.

How is your spraying doing now? post some pics of some fresh driveways you did

Yes , 1 driveway is the old tar and chip. The 15,000 driveway is compacted recycled asphalt that was milled off the highway. Have you ever sprayed over this material ?

most likely not, I would have to see pics of the materiel in close up...

keep in mind that those chip seal they call it was made with hot tar, then they rake the gravel with the tar to make sure it holds together, the BlackMac will not have a huge effect on making the gravel stick together, it will only make the top portion of gravel black for a few years.

Maybe talk to the customer to see if you can do a sample spray in a small corner of the parking lot? Come back in 2 weeks to see how it does? Just an opinion

That's all the tar and chip guy wants , to make it black because he is selling . I am a little concerned with the recycled asphalt , still some loose stones on top, but the guy really wants it sealed , just never heard of it before. For some reason laptop wont let me upload pictures.

Just put quick couplers on both short and long wands , flat faced high pressure ones . Seem to work good , for $ 200.00 they should !

Yes Marlie , JFGauvreau advice has helped me . Overlap more on older , grey asphalt , wider spray stainless tip , clean filter better. How are you doing with your protect system ?

Looking for opinions on which is better , drain the blackmac tank empty or fill it up for the winter ? Tank will be inside an enclosed trailer but out in the cold .

Run my pump today at 500 psi with a 80-2 stainless tip with filter. Sprayed nice with no lines , I will adjust it on the next driveway to fine tune it .
