Ha! My new guys found a blown riser that was buried in a now non-maintained part of a planting zone that was installed 11 years ago. You've got to find/check/cap every head.

The op stated that the zone was using 17 gpm and was nozzled for 9-10 gpm.

I put adjustable nozzles on all of the heads that were halfway up and closed them off. Turned on the zone and three more heads popped up!! Closed adjustable nozzles on these too and turned on the zone again. Walked to one of the last three heads that popped up and one was barely attached to the nipple in the bottom. Problem solved!!
