LED color temperature on steakhouse

We have a Longhorn Steakhouse that just opened. The general landscaper did the lighting using integrated LED fixtures from a popular company. Aside from the poor design and installation, I thought it was interesting to see these spots on some fake shuttered-windows on each side of the building. It looks like one of those tests of color comparing different LEDs except these were all exactly the same fixture from one manufacturer !

Yep, that REALLY is awful... Unfortunately I see similar examples of this more and more. I really wish people would take the time to research and understand what they are doing before they go and do it. Jobs like this make all of us look bad in the long run. My question for the designer/installer would be: "How could you have installed that mess and then just walked away leaving it to look like that?"

Hey Phil,

Was that at a Longhorn restaurant? I was in Tennessee for a few days and noticed they used the same lights and same effect as this- Yuck!

Yes, a Longhorn. If you saw the same setup in TN, I assume a landscape architect designed the lighting.
One wash light from above would have had a better effect on these shutters rather than 3 spots. The color is off on other spots on the stone facing but they don't distract quite as badly.

The landscape installation is horrible, too. I don't understand why Darden Restaurants doesn't better oversee these new installations. I once took over the landscape maintenance of an Olive Garden and I spent three years replacing original plantings and irrigation problems.

The lighting was terrible- but the New York strip steak was FAB.

I know why we see so much shoddy work at large brand / chain stores... It's commonly referred to as " a non revenue generating expense" and as a result, these things tend to go to the lowest possible bidder.
