Debt Collection?

I have a customer who owes me $175. I have sent multiple invoices and called and texted them several times. They will no longer answer the phone or respond to texts. They have not made a payment in over 2 months. Is this small amount worth going to a lawyer or collections agency? Even if I pay a collections agency most of what I make, I would like to do it just on principle if it's not going to cost me too much time. Any advice?

I mean, you can take them to court but even after judgement and liens and garnishments are filed there's no guarantee you'll ever get paid, and every motion costs you a fee that has to be paid upfront with cash money.
It adds up quick, without a lawyer you can be out $100 in no time at all, of course you can tack that on to the money they owe you but if they never pay...

Maybe I'd show up at their house here on Labor day weekend, see if I can catch someone home, no guarantees but if it doesn't cost too much to drive out there you might be surprised, sometimes they pay right quick on such a visit... Granted it works even better when relatives are visiting.

Now if that doesn't work, probably best to just write it off.
As they say, can't get blood out of a turnip.
